PM Automotive Group Used Vehicle Policies

PM Automotive Group offers peace of mind motoring with our free 3 year unlimited kilometre Mechanical Protection Plan (VPP) on Used Vehicles. The PM Automotive Group VPP commences upon delivery of your vehicle and applies for a period of 3 years from this delivery date.

The PM Automotive Group VPP is not as extensive or comprehensive as the original manufacturer’s warranty; however it does cover the major components of your vehicle. This VPP is given to you free of charge to ensure your purchase from PM Automotive Group provides real value for money, and gives you the added confidence expected when dealing with a long standing reputable dealer group.

Should you wish to increase the level of cover offered by a VPP it is possible to upgrade to a Platinum Plan; this increased cover however does come at a cost – details on costs and additional items covered can be obtained by speaking to one of our consultants.

Conditions do apply – refer to the 3 year Mechanical Protection Plan terms for full details. Vehicles must be serviced regularly by PM Automotive Group to remain eligible, and it should be noted that some Parts are specifically excluded.

7 Day exchange policy on Used Vehicles

If the purchaser is not completely happy with an eligible pre-owned vehicle (eligible vehicle) they have purchased, they may exchange the vehicle provided it abides by the following criteria:

The exchange occurs within 7 calendar days of purchase (with the day of purchase as the first day) or 500 kilometres (whichever comes first).

If the purchaser chooses to exchange their ‘eligible vehicle’ back into the original dealership of purchase, for another in-stock pre-owned vehicle (exchange vehicle), the purchaser will receive credit for the following amounts paid:

  • The deposit payment
  • The "agreed upon trade in value" – If there was a trade in forming part of the original deal.
  • Any amounts paid toward the principal balance.

If the purchase price of the ‘exchange vehicle’ is less than the purchase price of the ‘eligible vehicle’ being returned, the purchaser will receive credit for the difference. The difference will not be given in cash.

If the purchase price of the ‘exchange vehicle’ being traded in for is more than the ‘eligible vehicle’, the purchaser will be required pay the difference.

Any changes or modifications in finance agreements resulting from these transactions are subject to the approval of the financial institution involved. Any fees or changes associated with changing or modifying the finance agreements will be at the cost of the purchaser.


Inspected pre-owned vehicles are eligible to be traded within the first 7 calendar days (including the day of purchase as the first day) or 500 kilometres after delivery (subject to the exclusions below). The vehicle must be returned to the General Manager of the original dealership of purchase in the exact condition that it was delivered to the customer in, without any damage or excessive wear and tear. A vehicle inspection will be conducted to access eligibility for exchange.

This policy applies to pre-owned vehicles purchased at the following PM Automotive Group dealerships only:

  • Chadstone Ford
  • PM Epping
  • Essendon Holden
  • Central Ford


Program available to private buyers only and specifically excludes:

  • Fleet vehicles
  • Customers or family members of customers who have previously returned vehicles under these programs
  • Vehicles acquired in exchange under these programs
  • Vehicles that have had any after-market accessories installed
  • All new vehicle purchases

Exchange Details

Vehicles must be exchanged to the General Manager of the dealership of purchase in original condition by the original purchaser, and must be accompanied by all original documentation, registration, license and delivery paperwork.
The dealership WILL NOT refund any additional expenses incurred by the purchaser that may have resulted from the exchange process.
